On-Street Meter Information
The Lexington & Fayette County Parking Authority (LEXPARK) operates, maintains and manages approximately 1150 meters located throughout the City but primarily within the Downtown Area. The meters are a combination of electronic and mechanical meters.
Location:
In the Central Core Area -- basically Downtown Lexington and around the University of Kentucky.
Meter Rates:
The meters require $1.00 for 60 minutes or 25 cents for 15 minutes. There are 1 hour, 2 hour and 4 hours meters strategically located throughout the area.
Operating Hours:
The meters are in effect and Enforced from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

- New Years Day
- Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday
- Presidents' Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- The Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
Coins Accepted:
The meters accept Quarters, Dimes and Nickels and will register the appropriate proportion of time on the meter.
Parking Meter Malfunction:
If a parking meter malfunctions, please report it here or call the LEXPARK office (859-231-PARK) and advise them of the problem. Please be prepared to give the meter number to determine the location so the meter can be checked. If you receive a ticket at a malfunctioning meter, please immediately report it here or call the LEXPARK office as well.
Parking Tickets:
Parking Tickets are issued by LEXPARK as well as the LFUCG Division of Police. Read the Instructions on the ticket about options for payment and appeal. Any additional questions please visit our customer service area or call the LEXPARK office (859-231-PARK).
Fines for Parking Tickets:
Parking tickets are $15.00 and escalate to $30.00 if not paid in 10 days.
Paying Parking Tickets:
Citations and applicable fines may be paid by mail with check, by credit card (Visa, MC, Discover); by phone at (859) 231-PARK or in person at the LEXPARK office, 114 N. Upper St., Lexington KY, 40507. Office Hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. Please make checks payable to LEXPARK. DO NOT MAIL CASH.
Towing:
Towing may either be handled by LEXPARK or the LFUCG Division of Police. If your vehicle has been towed, call the Division of Police at 258-3600. You will be charged for towing. |
